I'm proud to call Silkstone my home and I care very much for our villages and our wonderful countryside
But I get frustrated when people tell me how they feel that we get overlooked by the Labour run Barnsley Council.
Our current three Conservative councillors always vote with Labour in the Town Hall, backing their budget, supporting their plans to build on our green spaces, and refusing to show any kind of opposition at all.

We need a local councillor to stand up for us and make our voice heard, and we won’t get that from another four years of more of the same. The Tories take our vote for granted and the Labour council isn’t listening.

I have lived right in the heart of our community here in Silkstone with my wife Sue for 33 years. I run my business here and our two daughters both went to local schools.
The Barnsley and Penistone Lib Dems are the only party that is standing up for villages like ours. Penistone now has three Lib Dem councillors and I think it’s time for a change here too.
If I am elected on May 4th you will have a truly local councillor who is able to stand up and fight for better services for our villages and communities in Barnsley Town Hall.
